About
The Insurance Confidential is written by an insurance adjuster.
My insurance blog is here to give you the real deal about homeowners insurance and claims. I even spill some details on insurance adjusters. I’m not here to sell you insurance. I’m here to give you the insider information that no one else is willing to dish out. Why? Because I’ve seen and heard the complaints of homeowners while inspecting their insurance claims. I’m simply here to help stop that cycle and empower you to become the most empowered homeowner on the block!
I’ve spent the last 8 years in a rewarding career that is insurance adjusting. Through the highs and the lows, it has been a massive part of my life. I started as a naïve female, not yet sure what I was getting myself into but knew that I had to do this.
The love/hate relationship for natural disasters started when I was 16 years old. Hurricane Katrina destroyed my home and livelihood, forever changing the course of my life. The love part comes into play when the weather is unpredictable, incredible, and just unbelievable. The hate part has already been implied.

Insurance adjusting piqued my interest when I was 22 years old. Something came over me one day, filling me with motivation, and I just knew that I needed to do something with my life.
The more I researched adjusting, the more I wanted to become an independent adjuster.
I started to teach myself what insurance is. Then I dived into what adjusting is and how to handle claims. I fell in love with it. Not many people do- that’s okay, that’s why I’m the adjuster.
I soon learned all about how homes are constructed- from the roof to the flooring. I passed the adjuster’s exam, and I knew that I was finally ready to find a way into this career. As luck turned out, my neighbor was a retired adjuster and passed my information along to his prior employer. It took just a few days before I received an email from that employer, plagued with curiosity asking why a 22-year-old female would ever want to get themselves into this career. Those weren’t his exact words, well none of those were, but you get it. We set up an interview, and the next day I was offered a job.
I didn’t know who I was going to become 8 years down the line, looking back at what seems like a lifetime of experience and growing.
I’ve learned through the years how uneducated many homeowners are when it comes to insurance. I want to empower everyone to learn about one of their most important investments- their home!
There you have it- The Insurance Confidential – a vault of insider knowledge from all things home insurance, claims, adjusting, and home maintenance.
